Ultrasonic Testing

Ultrasonic Testing (UT) is a versatile non-destructive examination technique used to detect internal discontinuities, measure material thickness and assess the integrity of components without causing damage. High-frequency sound waves are introduced into the material and the returning signals are analysed to identify defects such as cracks, lack of fusion, lack of penetration, inclusions and corrosion or erosion. NNDT utilises ultrasonic testing across a wide range of applications, from weld examination and fabrication inspection to corrosion monitoring and detailed thickness surveys. The technique provides clients with reliable information on the condition of their assets, allowing informed decisions to be made regarding maintenance, repair and continued operation.
