Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)

Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) is a highly sensitive method for detecting surface and near-surface discontinuities in ferromagnetic materials. The component is magnetised and specially prepared magnetic particles are applied to the inspection area. Discontinuities such as cracks, laps, seams and other surface-breaking defects interrupt the magnetic field and create visible indications. NNDT provides MT inspection for welds, fabricated components, machinery and critical structural assets, helping clients identify defects at an early stage and prevent potentially serious failures.
