Tank Floor Scanning using Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL) provides clients with a rapid and effective method of assessing the integrity of above-ground storage tank floors. The technology detects areas of corrosion, pitting and metal loss on both accessible and, in many applications, coated surfaces, allowing large areas of tank floor to be examined efficiently. NNDT can combine MFL data with complementary inspection techniques such as visual inspection, ultrasonic testing, vacuum box testing and magnetic particle testing to provide a comprehensive assessment of tank floor condition. This enables clients to identify areas requiring further examination, optimise maintenance planning and make informed decisions regarding repairs and continued operation.
