Alternating Current (AC) interference can create significant risks to buried pipeline infrastructure, particularly where pipelines are located in proximity to high-voltage electrical transmission systems. NNDT provides comprehensive AC Mitigation services designed to identify, assess and control these risks through field surveys, engineering design, installation and commissioning.
FIELD SURVEYS
NNDT conducts field surveys to assess AC interference conditions along pipeline systems and identify locations where induced voltages may present a risk to personnel, pipeline coatings or asset integrity. Survey data provides the foundation for developing an appropriate mitigation strategy.
DESIGN
NNDT provides AC mitigation design services, supported by a certified electrical engineer, to develop solutions appropriate to the electrical and physical characteristics of the pipeline and surrounding infrastructure. The objective is to control induced AC voltages and reduce associated safety, coating and corrosion risks.
INSTALLATIONS
NNDT provides installation of AC mitigation systems and associated infrastructure in accordance with the approved engineering design. Our field teams coordinate installation activities with site requirements to provide an effective and reliable mitigation solution.
COMMISSIONING
Following installation, NNDT performs commissioning activities to verify that the AC mitigation system is operating as intended. Measurements and system performance checks are undertaken to confirm the effectiveness of the installed solution and identify any adjustments required.
